NFIRS (National Fire Incident Reporting System)
IaR has built a NFIRS Version 5.0 (current 2022 Standards) platform where IaR Subscribers can input their call information, export it from IaR and be able to supply the finalized report to wherever they need to send it to. (their State, their County, FEMA)
- We suggest that all agencies export their reports from IaR via EMAIL to an email address of their choosing.
- This allows them to SAVE their exported NFIRS document to their own computer/cloud storage and have it forever.
- If they are exporting the report from a different computer, this will always put the document in an accessible place for them to research and access.
Once the agency has their exported NFIRS document, they can then forward it to anyone else they wish and/or upload it to FEMA.

Reverting Already-Exported Reports
(For Reporting Corrections)
- Navigate to the NFIRS 5.0 program in the IaR Website Administrative Functions.
- On the new NFIRS Tab within your Web Browser, go the the DASHBOARDS button along the top.
- Select EXPORT HISTORY.
- On the screen you will now see on the LEFT that you are on the Export History Dashboard.
- Choose the YEAR that the incident(s) took place that you want to revert.
- Select the date range. (This is the date of the incident, not when they were originally exported.)
- For any report that you want to revert, click on the reverse-circle to the Right of that specific incident.
- After reports are reverted, they can be located in your INCIDENT REPORTS Dashboard. You will need to switch to the Incident Reports Dashboard manually, and again select your Year and Date Range to see the now-reverted reports.
- When you complete any report updates, you will of course want to EXPORT them again.
-
This WILL send the reports to the places/address that you have listed in your NFIRS CONFIGURATION Steps 1 & 2.
- If you don't want to send these updated reports to your typical recipient, make the change BEFORE you export.
- You may want to alter the NFIRS CONFIGURATION Steps 1 & 2, just so that you can make this specific export, allowing you to have more control over WHERE these reports are exported to.
- Don't forget you then put your NFIRS CONFIGURATION back to the way you want it for your typical report exporting needs.
