Thanks for reaching out with your questions about the transition from NFIRS to the new NERIS reporting system. We understand this is a significant change, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention.
We want to be clear about our current position so you know what to expect:
- NFIRS is still supported by IaR: We have no plans to sunset our NFIRS system. You can continue to use it to generate and store your reports locally. The USFA has stated that NFIRS will remain available and accepted through at least the end of 2025.
- We are not planning to build a NERIS system in IaR: We want to be direct about this so there's no confusion. We are evaluating a possible integration into an external NERIS system, but have no further news on that at this time.
We understand this may not be the immediate answer you're looking for, but please know we are committed to providing you with the best tools and support. We'll be sure to provide updates as soon as we have more definitive information to share.
