This guide is for Android users who do not see the IamResponding ringtone options listed on their IaR App ringtone list.
These steps are intended to help you locate and move the ‘IaR-Ringtones’ so they can be used on your IaR App.*
*These steps may not work for all devices (make/model dependent).
Please note that using an ‘IaR-Ringtone’ is not required.
You can use any ringtone/sound that alerts you.
You have three non-IaR-Ringtone options.
-
There is an option to RECORD your own ringtone/sound.
Have fun by recording favorite tv or movie sound bites as your
custom ringtone. You can also record IaR-Ringtones from another
device. -
Android users also have access to third party ringtone apps that you
can use to search libraries of almost unlimited sounds and ringtones. - The ringtones that are native to your device are always an option.
To try and locate the ‘IaR-Ringtone’ options on your device:
(You will need your Login Credentials)
→On your Android device’s screen, hard touch/hold the IaR App logo for 1
second. In the popup window, select the APP INFO icon in the corner.
→On the App Info for IaR, go to the STORAGE option.
→First, select the CLEAR CACHE button.
→Second, select the CLEAR DATA button.
→Select the Arrow in the upper Left, to return to the App Info screen.
→First select the FORCE STOP button.
→Second select the UNINSTALL button.
Do you have any downloaded Ringtone Apps (Zedge is a popular one), If so, Delete them also.
→It is recommended to power cycle your device; turn it Off/On.
→Download the IaR App from the Google Play Store.
Do not login to the IaR App until instructed to do so.
On your device’s screen, hard touch/hold the IaR App logo for 1 second.
In the popup window, select the APP INFO icon in the corner.
Go to PERMISSIONS. Allow ALL PERMISSIONS.
→Elsewhere in your phone settings, investigate to make sure that there
are no battery saver, data saver, or anti-virus programs that could be
preventing IaR from working correctly.
These next steps are written to be somewhat universal so that they work across different Android operating systems and different makes/models of Android devices. Please follow these steps with the understanding that you may not see the exact words shown below. This serves as a general outline.
→Go to the My Files/Files App on your device. The My Files/Files App has a file folder icon. Depending on your phones make/model you may have to look in an app group folder.
→Once in the My Files/Files, go into the AUDIO folder and look in the available folders to identify where the ‘IaR-Ringtone’ options are located. Depending on your device there may be multiple folders to look in. There are 22 ‘IaR-Ringtone’ sounds. That may help you locate the correct folder.
→When you find the ‘IaR-Ringtone’ options, touch and hold one of them. You should see a way to highlight or check all the sounds that you want to copy/move them. If you have the option to do it, you will want to select all of them at once, so that all 22 ‘IaR-Ringtone’ sounds are highlighted/checked.
→You should see an option to copy/move the selected sounds.
→Now back up a screen or two, go to the My Files/Files and choose the
option for INTERNAL STORAGE.
→You will see multiple folders. I suggest copying the selected 22 ‘IaR-Ringtone’ options to both the Notification and Ringtone folders. To put the sounds in both folders, you may need to repeat the process a second time.
Now log into the IaR App.
Do you see the 22 “IaR Ringtone” sounds?
- If so, you are all set.
