Live Audio for IamResponding is an optional, additional feature that allows agencies to stream live radio traffic directly through the IamResponding mobile app and web dashboard. This feature enhances real-time communication by enabling authorized personnel to listen to critical dispatches and on-scene communications.
To enable Live Audio, an agency administrator must first reach out to the IamResponding Sales Team to add the feature to their existing subscription IaR-salesteam@rapidsos.com for details on the cost of adding it to your existing IaR subscription.
Please include the following in your email:
- Full Name
- Agency Name
- State/Province
Once the feature is enabled, setup begins by creating a new live audio channel within the Administrative Functions section of the IamResponding dashboard. After that, an API key is generated to authenticate the connection between the software and the Live Audio source.
Next, the IaR-Live Audio client software must be installed on a PC/RasperryPi that is connected to a radio or scanner. This connection can be as simple as using a USB sound card, or more advanced using Audio over IP from systems like Mindshare, or Audio over UDP from trunk-recorder software. For agencies using supported Uniden scanners, a USB data connection can also be used to pull in metadata such as Unit ID or Channel Name.
Once configured, users can easily access and listen to the live audio feed through the IamResponding mobile app or the web dashboard, providing real-time situational awareness wherever they are.
