Messages you may see:
- Telephone number # has already been registered for another member of this agency
- A member of a different agency which has the same assigned/additional call in number has already registered telephone number # as a designated number to call into the system. Please contact the system administrator of the Emergency Responder Reply System to advise them of this issue so that it may be resolved promptly.
These error messages mean that the specific phone number you're trying to add to a member's profile is already being used in IaR.
The system uses a member's unique Caller ID to identify them when they call in to respond to an alert. If two people in the same agency use the same phone number for this feature, the system won't know who is calling. To prevent this, only one member can have a unique number registered for calling in.
It's also possible, though rare, that this error occurs if a member belongs to two different agencies that both use the same toll-free number for call-ins.
Important:
You can still use the affected phone number in the member's Text Message Address field. This restriction only applies to the Call-In Number fields.
How to Resolve the Error
To fix this issue, you simply need to remove the duplicate number from the member's profile.
-
Locate the member's profile with the error.
-
Find the 6 Call-In Number fields.
-
Delete the duplicate number from these fields.
After you've removed the number, the profile should be saved successfully.
