1. The Relationship and Activation of the Scrolling Message
Identical Function: The Scrolling Message (at the bottom of the dashboard) and the Messaging Tile are the exact same function. The difference is their display location.
Scrolling Message On/Off: The scrolling banner at the bottom can be turned on or off using the large gear with a down arrow located in the upper right corner near the clock. Toggling this only affects the scrolling banner display, not the tile's functionality.
2. Messaging Tile Placement and Management
Adding the Tile:
Go to the gear in the upper right hand corner.
Choose "edit my display".
If needed, remove an existing tile to make space.
Click the blue tab on the right side that says "add tiles".
Scroll down and select the "messages" tile (it's near the very bottom of the list).
The tile can be resized as needed.
Tile Management Icons (Editing/Adding/Deleting Messages):
The messaging tile has two icons in its upper right corner:
Paper and Pencil Icon: Used to add, edit, or delete a message.
To edit, click "edit message," select the correct one, make adjustments, and hit "update."
To add, click "add message" and type it out (the first words/letters become the title).
To delete, click "delete a message," select the message, and hit the blue "delete" button.
Tile Settings Icon (Configuration):
The Gear Icon in the upper right corner of the tile controls display settings:
Change the tile's background color to be the same as the dashboard or a different color.
Set an auto scroll speed for messages.
Choose the order of messages (oldest to newest or newest to oldest).
Message Management Without the Tile:
If you are only using the scrolling message bar and not the tile, you can still manage the messages:
Go to the three horizontal lines (menu option) in the upper left.
Open the menu.
Click on the "messages" option at the very bottom of the list.
This provides the same three options: Add a message, Edit a message, and Delete a message.
