This article provides some tips for running multiple instances of TwoToneDetect on a single Windows computer. Specifying distinct names for each sound card and each instance of TwoToneDetect allows the instances to be organized and tracked in an easy way.
Naming Multiple TTD Instances
To run more than one instance of TwoToneDetect, simply make multiple copies of the entire TwoToneDetect directory, one for each instance.
Inside the TwoToneDetect directory is a file called config.cfg. Open this file in a text editor (such as Notepad) and change the value of the “instance_id” parameter to something that will uniquely identify it.
TwoToneDetect will then display that value in the system tray and browser tab (when the GUI is open) to aid in differentiating each instance of TwoToneDetect that is running.
Renaming Sound Cards in Windows
To rename a sound card input, go to Settings=>System=>Sound and find the input device that you’d like to rename. Click on it, and then click on “Rename”. This can be done for as many devices as desired.
After all sound devices have been renamed, they will appear by that name after restarting TwoToneDetect to make selection of the correct sound card easier.
