Using Text-to-Speech on your Android IaR App
The Android Text-to-Speech function can be part of your IaR Notification on Android devices.
When there is a new CAD Incident, your IaR App can start speaking from your phone. If it's in your pocket, backpack, or center console of your vehicle, your IaR App can start reading the CAD Text dispatch to you.
You may even find this more 'attention getting' in the middle of the night, to wake you up.
How to:
- Within your IaR App Settings, go to the CAD Incident Settings.
- Select the option for Auto Play Voice.
- The 'circled-i' has some information about the feature.
- The settings shown in the image below are not necessarily the 'best' or 'correct' settings.
- If you are having a Text-to-Speech issue on your Android device, you will want to consider and test these settings. Adjust if needed, and test to see if you can get your devices Text-to-Speech audio just right for you.
